I am a newbie Young Adult Librarian for Hancock County Public Library and the first of my kind. All of my teen programming will be built from scratch which is an exciting, yet daunting task. Let's just say the teen library world is my oyster. I graduated from the University of Kentucky with my Master of Library and Information Science this past May and I'm excited to finally earn the title "Librarian." Being a book nerd since infancy, this is quite an accomplishment for me. Some kids dream of being an astronaut, I dreamed of donning a cardigan (so I had a narrow-minded view of librarianship) and reading to my heart's content. And not only just that, but sharing what I'm reading and helping others find their interests in the crazy jungle of literature.
My love for YA literature started in college when I was nearing the end of my teenage years (ironic, huh?) and I've been devouring the stuff ever since. I'm interested in dystopian fiction, I mean who doesn't love The Hunger Games, and science fiction/paranormal romance (but don't call me a Twihard). I started this blog to write reviews of some of my favorite YA books and movies, as well as an interactive place for teens in my community to talk about what they're reading.
