I was hoping for a more interactive display in which the teens could identify the meaning behind the runes and tape the answer beside the image, however I was running short on time and needed to get the display up there. I haven't met many teens coming into the library (it's only my second week), but I'm hoping once I visit the schools and start advertising I can really pull the teens in and the displays and reader advisory won't be for nothing. Tell me what you think! What should I have changed or added? What would your City of Bones display look like?

What's On Display (August)
I hope to create a new display each month for Hancock County Library's teen section. This area was named The Nest by the local high school (their mascot is a hornet in case you were wondering if we like to refer to teens as birds here in rural Kentucky). For the upcoming theater release of City of Bones, I decided on a display featuring The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandre Clare. I also made some read-a-like brochures to help teen readers find books similar to the series. This was my first library display...EVER! While I'm not at all crafty and I like to consider my artistic talents as "neat and organized" (i.e. not creative or artistic at all), I think the display turned out pretty well. I introduced myself to an X-ACTO knife for the runes. I'm lucky to still have fingers....seriously. Check out my display!
